Blind wolf

This article contains information of a non-canon subject that is not a part of the established Halo universe. |
The Blind Wolf is a Halo creature that didn't make it into Halo: Combat Evolved. It can be seen in the Halo 2 Limited Collector's Edition Disc. The player would have been able to mount it and ride it, but it was removed from gameplay because it was difficult to control. Bungie has stated that the "artificial intelligence programming was difficult to manage as well".[1]
[edit] Trivia
- There is a reference to the Blind Wolf in the Halo 2 level Terminal, when the male announcer says, "A child’s 'My Pet Blind Wolf' stuffed toy has been found. Will the owner please claim it at the lost and found."
- The Blind Wolf may have been the influence for one of Bungie's wildlife in Halo: Reach, called the Gúta.
- As the name suggests the blind wolf would have had no eyes or even if it had any eyesight it would have been very weak and it must have had a good sense of hearing or smell.
[edit] Deleted Material
Blind wolf is part of the Deleted Material cut from the Halo series.
When developing Halo: Combat Evolved, Bungie faced numerous prototypes during the pre-production and considered cutting down to a certain number of objects for the final bit of Halo: Combat Evolved.
As such, many aspects of the story such as vehicles, gameplay, design, and story elements didn't make it into the final version of Halo: Combat Evolved.
