[edit] Trivia

  • It appears from the transcript above that Bungie originally did not know what to name the creature, and simply fused "Doberman" and "Gator" together to form "Doberman Gator".
  • Its anatomy also slightly resembles that of the prehistoric Gorgonopsids which lived on Earth within the Permian. There are also similarities between it and Ambulocetus; an aquatic as well as terrestrial ancestor of Earth's Cetaceans which lived throughout the Eocene.

[edit] Deleted material

Doberman gator is part of the deleted material cut from the Halo games.

When developing the Halo games, Bungie, Ensemble Studios, and 343 Industries have had to cut some content from the final games. As such, many aspects of the games, such as vehicles, gameplay, design, and story elements, were not included in the final versions. Many of these elements have been confirmed by such material as videos and commentary, interviews with developers, and released concept art.
