Emanuel Barakat, nicknamed Manny, was an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper in the UNSC Marine Corps. He was from Sydney, Australia and his favorite bar was known as the Parthenon. He was killed in action sometime before 2553. He made his friends Malcolm Geffen and Vasily Beloi promise that if they ever passed through Sydney, they would visit his favorite bar. In 2553, Mal and Vaz arrived at Sydney, only to find the Parthenon reduced to rubble after the Battle of Earth. Not having a bar or drinks, they paid their respects while drinking fruit juice borrowed from construction workers. Mal said Emanuel would see the funny side of that.^[1]
