Forerunnership
forerunnership[1] (working title, shipping name unknown) was a level in Halo 2 that was supposed to take place on the Forerunner Dreadnought as it approached Earth, after the level The Great Journey. The level was ultimately cut from the game due to time constraints, resulting in the cliffhanger at the end of the game.[2] The level was to feature a trench run that involved "...massive, horizontal grav-lift transporters that you could drive a Warthog into and through." It was seemingly replaced by the battle scenes in Halo: Uprising.[1]
[edit] Deleted material
Forerunnership is part of the deleted material cut from the Halo games.
When developing the Halo games, Bungie, Ensemble Studios, and 343 Industries have had to cut some content from the final games. As such, many aspects of the games, such as vehicles, gameplay, design, and story elements, were not included in the final versions. Many of these elements have been confirmed by such material as videos and commentary, interviews with developers, and released concept art.
