Halo: The Great Journey: The Art of Building Worlds is a hardcover art book that chronicles the artwork behind the Halo universe from 2001 to 2011. It is part of 343 Industries' plans for the ten-year anniversary of the franchise.[1] Published by reference/companion and art guide specialists Titan Books, The Great Journey was organized and designed by Martin Robinson, a Halo enthusiast and award-winning journalist for Eurogamer and IGN.com UK. It features over 400 concept art pieces, sketches, and commentaries by artists such as Isaac Hannaford, Shi Kai Wang, Frank Capezzuto and Jaime Jones.

A 1,000-copy Limited Edition is also available, with an unique slipcase cover and four hand-signed prints: John-117 by Eddie Smith, Halo: Cryptum's cover art by Nicolas "Sparth" Bouvier, a corridor battle in the UNSC Pillar of Autumn by Vitaliy Anikin, and the Truth and Reconciliation's bridge by Vladimir Nenov. This edition is only available in the UK.[2]

The Great Journey was released on October 18th, 2011.
